Physical description of Selkirk Rex

According to the standard LOOF (Official Book of feline origin): "The Selkirk Rex is a cat of medium to large, with a round head, body mass and a solid backbone".

His weight :
The male weighs 4 to 5 kg. 
The female weighs 3 to 4 kg.

His coat :
There are several categories of coat for Selkirk.
First, you must know that "rex" means curly.
The Selkirk Rex is a cat with curly hair.

The 3 types of hair (in hair, hair care and hair jar) are affected by the change. Even the whiskers and eyebrows are curly.

There are Selkirk Rex short-haired (fur dense, soft and fluffy with a set of regular loops) and Selkirk has long hair (fur dense, soft, very closed. Buckles give the impression of being free and independent apart).

There are also Selkirk (short or long hair) said "straight" because their hair does not cur. Currently these are recorded in Selkirks LOOF as Selkirk Rex as the Standard Selkirks Straight does not exist.

The Kittens are born curly.
The Selkirk Rex's hair grows until hims 2 years.

Soins à apporter au pelage :
Un brossage bimensuel avec un peigne à large denture est suffisant pour les Selkirk Rex.
Pour le Selkirk sraight prévoir un brossage régulier sous peine de voir apparaître des noeuds.

Couleurs des yeux :
Le Selkirk Rex peut avoir des yeux cuivres, or, jaunes, oranges, ou verts.
Chez le Selkirk Rex couleur "colorpoint" les yeux peuvent être bleus.
Chez le Selkirk Rex blanc les yeux peuvent être bleus ou vairons (ex :un bleu et un vert)
